It seems Marshall is looking to modernise it’s name and products by teaming up with the Softube. Both companies announced their new partnership today, saying that it’s more than just a collaboration, it’s more a long-term project with long-term goals. Meaning, a host of new guitar products, which the company’s say are already under development.

It also means the partnership will finally bringing Marshall into the 21st century, with Marshall’s Managing Director, Jonathan Ellery, stating: “Our partnership with Softube will not only strengthen our offering and give Marshall access to world leading technology but it will also put us on the digital map”.

Adding a slight tease, Oscar Öberg, CEO of Softube said  :
“Great times lie ahead for all guitarists!”

For guitarist, Marshall Amps is an iconic British brand that helped define the sound of rock. The amps have been used by everyone from Jimi Hendrix, to Joe Satriani, Zakk Wylde and Slash and unlike most other amp brands, the amplifiers are still built its factory in Bletchley Milton Keynes, England.

Softube, on the other hand are dubbed ‘the Swedish rock ‘n’ roll scientists’ Softube, whose modelled guitar amps and plugins have been used by Adele and Black Sabbath, amongst others.

We’re looking forward to seeing what the partnership will bring and the results of their combined knowledge. We suspect to see some very cool amp simulations and modelling products.
