twotwoRange with Sub for web

It’s officially a trend now. PMC is yet another studio monitor manufacturer to add an active subwoofer to its line. The twotwo sub1 is a low-distortion, active subwoofer featuring PMC’s AT bass-loading technology, Class D amplification and DSP-based filtering and bass management, which extends bass output with negligible harmonic distortion. The built-in amplifier delivers 400W of power to the sub, which has an active frequency response from 22Hz up to 200Hz delivered consistent at all volumes. The sub1 can be deployed in a 2.1 configuration with twotwo series monitors to gain extra bass extension and headroom, or reproduce the low frequency effects (LFE) channel in a surround monitoring system. The sub1 features an AES3 XLR input with a built-in sample rate converter that accepts digital signals at any sample rate up to 192kHz. The digital input is also passed through to the sub’s analogue and digital outputs for connection with other devices, allowing the twotwo sub1 to be used as a D-A device to drive other analogue monitors from a digital stream. A single parametric equaliser can help with in-room alignment, and the analogue and digital outputs can be high-pass filtered to feed satellite speakers. A pair of balanced stereo analogue inputs on XLRs is also available, and both sets of inputs are always active regardless of which sources are connected. The PMC website is at www.pmc-speakers.com
