This one snuck past us at Musikmesse last month. Not to be confused with the original Nord Drum, which offers four channels and only a mono output, (and was only released about a year ago), the Nord Drum 2 is a 6-channel Modeling Percussion Synthesizer that combines the playability of real percussion with unique and powerful sound creation possibilities. New features included Resonance modeling, FM-synthesis, distortion effects, stereo outputs with panning and CC-control. As an optional accessory you can also buy the cool-looking Nord Pad, a responsive, compact multi-pad designed to be the perfect companion to the Nord Drum 2. Connection between the two is a single cable Ethernet connector which may restrict your options as to using these with any other controllers or sound modules – full details as to any extra connections such as MIDI or USB are hard to find. No word either on whether you get the groovy red drum sticks with the Nord Pad. We can only hope.
