Newfangled Audio was started by Dan Gillespie after 15 years of writing DSP for Eventide. By combining traditional digital signal processing techniques with advances in the field of machine learning the company can now create the best sounding audio tools available.
When Newfangled Audio began to explore what a double-pendulum would sound like when translated to audio, a new oscillator concept was unearthed. A double-pendulum is a simple, but chaotic, mechanical system: its previously mapped events provide future outcomes that are difficult to predict. Initially it didn’t sound very musical, but after some tweaking it began to sound quite interesting.
This is what makes Newfangled Audio’s Pendulate refreshingly different. Pendulate is a chaotic mono-synth that uses these new calculations to create previously unheard sounds. Capable of generating biting basses, searing leads, and gritty textures, it can smoothly fade from a sine wave into total chaos, with an expanse of territory to explore in between.
